ABOUT

The Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation's (MEGJC) launched the Youth Environmental Advocacy Programme (YEAP) on June 30, 2016 by the Hon. Daryl Vaz, Minister without portfolio in the MEGJC.

The programme is implemented by the Environment and Risk Management Branch (ERMB) of the Ministry through interactive educational sessions, educating high school students on pressing environmental issues that exist. The YEAP provides a platform for students to vocalize their issue and concerns as they are encouraged to become youth advocate for the environment and practice environmental stewardship.

The YEAP continues to highlight the work of the government with respect to the formulation of environmental policies/plans and programmes that support sustainable development and to share strategies that have been implemented, as well as support youth environmental groups/clubs and projects within the high schools by disseminating environmental information.
